The City Council today held a public hearing on Propositions 1 and 2, two schools levies which fund operations and other programs in Seattle public schools. Several people spoke in favor of it, including a PTA representative. Two people spoke against it: Alex Tsimerman (of course), and a member of the Freedom Socialist Party who complained about the tax structure of these propositions contributing to price the citizens out of being able to afford to live here and arguing for a new tax structure.
The City Council voted 8-0 (Bagshaw absent) to approve putting the ballots on the February election ballot.
