Today Mayor Ed Murray released his final proposal for managing growth in the city over the next 20 years.
The 2035 Comprehensive Plan has been in the works since 2013. The state’s Growth Management Act requires that the city’s comprehensive plan be updated; the last update was in 2004.
Later this month the proposal will be submitted to the Seattle City Council, where it will be reviewed by the Planning, Land Use and Zoning Committee, undoubtedly get revised, and then be finally approved by the full Council.
