SPU solid waste rate increase passes out of committee

Yesterday in the Civil Rights, Utilities, Economic Development and Arts Committee, the proposed tax increase for solid waste services and the accompanying rate increases for Seattle Public Utilities were approved and sent on to the full Council for final approval next week.

Here is my previous coverage on the topic. After the long conversation last time, there was little further discussion or debate yesterday.

The measures passed unanimously (2-0, with Council members Herbold and O’Brien present) which means they will go to the full Council on Monday.
