Friday news roundup: upzoning

This morning’s big story: yesterday’s release of the final EIS for the proposed city-wide upzone of urban villages.

Seattle Times, SeattleMet, Crosscut, The Stranger, Curbed, Capitol Hill Seattle Blog, Capitol Hill Times, West Seattle Blog, South Seattle Emerald, and MyNorthwest all cover the release of the final EIS for the city-wide MHA upzones, which expands the boundaries of some of the city’s urban villages and increases allowable building heights in exchange for construction of affordable housing.

The Urbanist, Seattle Times, and Puget Sound Business Journal discuss the proposed AirBnB regulations up for Council vote on Monday.

Crosscut takes a deeper look at the proposed contract between the city and the union representing SPD lieutenants and captains.
