Wednesday news roundup

We’re talking about taxes, homelessness and transit. Go figure.

KIRO and MyNorthwest report on the ongoing discussion about the proposed new $75 million tax on businesses.

Crosscut looks at a proposal by Council member O’Brien for pre-tax accounts to pay for riding public transportation.

Seattle Times has a column on how other West Coast cities are handling their own homeless crisis.

The Stranger looks at the dire situation for people evicted from public housing.

  1. I would be interested to hear if any of the council members, like Mike O’Brien, make a statement regarding the new report on the transportation levy. Especially with regards to the cost of bike lanes, which looks to be over $10 million per mile.
