What was originally going to be a tense week as deliberations on the proposed payroll tax advanced, has become a quiet one since the deliberations have been suspended.
Monday morning’s Council Briefing will include a presentation on Co-LEAD, a temporary adaptation of the LEAD program during the COVID-19 emergency. There will also be an executive session for the Council members to discuss pending litigation with city attorneys.
Monday afternoon’s full City Council meeting is scheduled to have final votes on:
- an ordinance prohibiting landlords from using a tenant’s eviction history that occurred during the COVID-19 emergency in making tenancy decisions;
- an ordinance allowing residential tenants to pay back rent in installments;
- approval of the 2020 Annual Action Plan for federal funding for housing and community development;
- an appointment to the Community Surveillance Working Group.
This weeks Introduction and Referral Calendar only includes one item: a plat approval.
All committee meetings this week have been cancelled, including the one originally scheduled for Wednesday morning to consider the proposed payroll tax bills.
