This afternoon the City Council announced the list of thirteen candidates who have applied to replace Rob Johnson on the City Council and met the eligibility requirements. It also provided a bit more guidance on the next steps toward choosing among the thirteen.
It was a full day for the Council, and beyond passing the budget the Council members did several other things as well.
Tomorrow morning, the Council will have a first discussion of an ordinance, proposed by Council member Kirsten Harris-Talley, to fill in the gaps in the process used to appoint someone to fill a vacancy on the City Council.
Well, the public forum happened tonight.
A spokesperson for the City Council just forwarded me additional information on tonight’s public forum for the candidates to fill the vacancy on the Council. As a reminder, the forum starts at 6pm (doors open at 5:30) in the Bertha Knight Landes room in City Hall. It will also be broadcast by the Seattle Channel.
