This Week at the City Council

On Monday, the City Council meets for its usual morning briefing and afternoon full council meeting.

According to the agenda for the morning briefing, there will be a presentation on Seattle’s legislative agenda for the upcoming Washington State legislative session (starting in January). They will also meet in private executive session to discuss pending or potential litigation.

On the agenda for the afternoon Full Council meeting is an ordinance establishing a framework for a commercial linkage fee to fund affordable housing. It received support of all nine council members in committee, so it should sail through to approval.

There is a special meeting of the Public Safety, Civil Rights and Technology Committee for Thursday. The agenda has not been posted yet.

The Budget Committee is meeting for several hours in two sessions on Friday. This is the start of Round 2 of the 2016 budget development, where specific items will be voted upon.  UPDATE:  The Budget committee meeting for Friday has been cancelled.
