News roundup: homeless response

Yesterday’s City Council meeting on the emergency homeless response, and the wide conversations in the community, are dominating the news this morning.

KING5 and MyNorthwest both cover the discussion at yesterday’s Human Services and Public Health committee meeting, in which Catherine Lester, Director of Human Services, and her staff presented a spending plan for the emergency funding in the city’s 2016 budget.

Crosscut, Real Change (and here), MyNorthwest, South Seattle Emerald, and The C Is For Crank all have further commentary on the homelessness crisis and the debate within the community.

West Seattle Blog reports further details on the RV “safe lot” in Highland Park.

MyBallard notes that the city is looking for citizens to serve on the community focus groups that will guide the HALA implementation.
