Good news for the Seattle Police Department

Some good news for the Seattle Police Department today.

The monitoring team watching SPD since the consent decree between the City and the Department of Justice commissioned a survey of Seattle residents’ views of the police.

The results were released today. Overall, Seattleites’ approval of the police continues to rise. People are seeing officers display more of the good behaviors, and less of the bad ones.

There’s still a lot of work to do. According to the report, most Seattle residents believe that African Americans and Latinos are still being mistreated by police.  Still, it’s progress.
