Friday news roundup: the head tax showdown

Surprise! Everyone is still talking about the head tax.

The Seattle TimesĀ  (here and here), The Stranger (here and here), KING, Q13, KUOW, Crosscut (here too), Washington Post, Puget Sound Business Journal, GeekWire (here and here), South Seattle Emerald, and Capitol Hill Seattle Blog all continue the discussion of the proposed head tax up for deliberation this morning in Council Chambers.

Curbed reports that the city has appealed the recent ruling against the First in Time tenant-protection ordinance.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Mountain View, CA is considering passing a “Google Tax.” It’s a head tax, intended to fund affordable housing. Sound familiar?
