Today the Washington State Supreme Court responded on the petition asking it to hear an appeal to the challenge to Initiative 976 and to extend the current preliminary injunction until the appeals are exhausted.
The ruling notes that the trial court judge extended his preliminary injunction until the state Supreme Court could make a decision. So rather than rush out a decision now, it has decided to take it up in its usual case conference on April 28 and make a decision at the same time on both issues: whether to take the case directly (or send it over the Court of Appeals), and whether to extend the preliminary injunction.
