This week in Council Chambers

Deliberations on the new payroll tax begin.

Monday morning at the Council Briefing, the Council will receive another report from SDOT on the condition of the West Seattle Bridge.

Monday afternoon’s full City Council meeting will include final votes on:

  • a bill temporarily suspending the Design Review Board and the Landmarks Commission and transferring their responsibilities to city staff for administrative approvals;
  • two land use approvals: a lot subdivision, and a plat approval.

This week’s Introduction and Referral Calendar includes seven appointments to the newly-established Working Group for Performance Auditing.

Wednesday morning at 10am, the Select Budget Committee meets. First it will hear an update from the City Budget Office on economic and revenue projections. Then it will take up the package of bills comprising the “Amazon tax” proposed by Council members Morales and Sawant, including the tax, the spending plan, and an interfund loan authorization allowing funds to be spent immediately.


This week will feature the re-introduction of public comment into Council meetings. Persons wishing to provide public comment during a meeting should visit this page starting two hours before the beginning of the meting to sign up to speak.
