This week in Council Chambers

There’s one more week of work left to do on the 2021 city budget.

Monday morning’s Council Briefing has no presentations or executive sessions scheduled.

Monday afternoon’s full City Council meeting will include a public hearing on a bill extending for another six months a moratorium on redeveloping the two mobile-home parks in north Seattle.

This week’s Introduction and Referral Calendar includes three new pieces of legislation tied to the 2021 budget:

  •  the creation of a new civilian-led Community Safety and Communications Center;
  • increasing the payroll tax;
  • authorizing a $40 vehicle license fee as part of the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Wednesday and Thursday, the Budget Committee is scheduled to meet to complete the 2021 city budget — though if past precedent holds, they will likely finish it on Wednesday.
