News roundup: still Uber, with a little pot

Uber’s travails still dominate the news this morning.  Today’s news is shifting down to California, where Uber is embroiled in a lawsuit with Uber drivers. Business Insider reports on today’s hearing. The Verge reports that a judge yesterday blocked Uber from rolling out its new driver agreement (and chewed out Uber for doing it). The Huffington Post has an opinion piece arguing that labor issues are creating a rift within the Democratic Party.

Capitol Hill Seattle Blog  covers the pending legislation that would allow more marijuana retail shops to open in Seattle.

The Stranger and the West Seattle Blog both cover this morning’s announcement of the City Council’s committee assignments for the next two years. The Stranger’s coverage also speculates on Bruce Harrell’s bid to be the next Council President.
