The Seattle School Board has pushed out its vote on extending its orca card program to more students.
Council President Harrell noted in his committee meeting this afternoon that he was informed by the School Board president that the ORCA card issue, originally on the agenda for tonight, would be postponed off tonight’s agenda.

One can assume this is because the other issue on the agenda, closing before- and after- care programs, is also on the agenda and will no doubt be controversial. Ironically, the Council sent a letter to the School Board, spearheaded by Council member Rob Johnson, asking them to postpone their vote on the before- and after- school programs until the Council has a chance to try to find additional resources that might alleviate the need.
