News roundup: construction woes

It’s a bad week to be working on a construction project in Seattle.

Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reports on a protest over the plan by King County to construct a new youth detention center, in contradiction with Seattle’s Zero Youth Detention Initiative.

KING5 covers the continuing 23rd Avenue business owners’ complaints about the street reconstruction project and what they see as the city’s inadequate response to the economic damage it has done.

KING5 also reports on the new city ordinances requiring periodic energy efficiency “tune-ups” for non-residential buildings over 50,000 square feet.
