This week in Council Chambers

Last week the Seattle City Council issued a directive asking all members of the legislative department to telecommute if at all possible, cancelling committee meetings for the rest of the month, and moving the weekly City Council meeting online. So with most Council activities shut down for the moment, here’s a very brief rundown of what’s going on this week.

The weekly Council Briefing is cancelled.

Monday afternoon’s full City Council meeting will be held by phone, which you can listen to on the Seattle Channel or by calling the City Council Listen Line, (206) 684-8566. On the agenda:

  • repealing the moratorium on online rent-bidding services;
  • a grant-acceptance ordinance for arts funding;
  • a long list of appointments.

The weekly Introduction and Referral Calendar has no new legislation other than paying the weekly bills.

Committee meetings originally scheduled for the rest of the week are all cancelled.

Wash your hands, cover your cough or sneeze, practice appropriate social distancing, and be safe and healthy out there. And remember to be kind and patient with others; we’re all under a lot of stress right now.
