Thursday news roundup: suing Trump

The city’s lawsuit yesterday against the Trump administration over its crackdown on “sanctuary cities” tops the news this morning.

Seattle Times, Q13, SeattleMet, Crosscut, South Seattle Emerald, Curbed, The Seattle Globalist, The Stranger, and Erica C. Barnett all write about the lawsuit the city filed yesterday challenging President Trump’s executive order withholding funds from so-called “sanctuary cities.”

KUOW and Erica C. Barnett report that the city has agreed to do a full Environmental Impact Statement on its loosening of the rules on backyard cottages.

Real Change covers the pending police accountability legislation.

Seattle Times has an editorial suggesting that the city might want to reconsider its housing affordability policy.
