SODO Arena: SDOT vs. Port of Seattle throwdown

The Department of Transportation and the Port of Seattle faced off this afternoon at the Sustainability and Transportation Committee meeting. At issue: what will be the impact of the proposed SODO Arena on transportation in the immediate area — and particularly freight transportation. Unfortunately, they both missed an opportunity to solve an even bigger issue.

Johnson tries to kick update to design review process down the road

This morning the Planning, Land Use and Zoning Committee heard a presentation on some proposed changes to the city’s design review process for construction projects, and while Committee chair Rob Johnson likes many of the ideas presented, he stated his preference to wait until next summer to formally take up any revisions.
